WXYZ — Trying to get a round in this time of year is challenging, but what if I told you there’s a place where over 30-thousand golfers from the state of Michigan get together year round, so that golf is always top of mind.
Mike Sullivan and Kyle Bogenschutz were two of the more passionate voices you’d hear on 97.1 the ticket over the past few years but both have the love of another hobby that turned into a career, golf.
“Michigan has always been such a huge golf state and for some reason there’s never been a social media space to match that appetite,” Brand 25 co-founder Mike Sullivan said.
So they decided to turn in their microphones and log into Facebook, creating the Metro Detroit Golfers group as an extension of their new digital marketing group, brand 25. And in just six months, have created a space where it’s always time to tee it up.
“Ultimately our biggest goal with Metro Detroit Golfers is to grow the game, have an Avenue, a group, a community that people can be a part of and courses want to get involved as well and that really is how we tied it all together,” Brand 25 co-founder Kyle Bogenshutz added.
“It’s always been a passion of mine to build a business, to really try to grow something and it’s something I’ve always believed in, I believe in social media, believed in digital media and finally wanting to take that jump and dive in and really just trying to build something,” Sullivan said.
“It really just spawned into this business out of nowhere honestly, I didn’t initially have these massive aspirations or know necessarily what it was or what it was going to be and it turned into what you see today,” Bogenschutz added.
The duo is selling metro detroit golfers tour cards filled with discounts and other goodies for the golfer in your life, if you want more information on that, you can find it here.
