CHICAGO (WXYZ) — Michigan State senior linebacker Joe Bachie has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after the Spartans' win over Northwestern on Saturday.
Bachie, from Brook Park, Ohio, had a career-high 14 tackles, including two tackles for loss, in the team's win.
He also added a 9-yard sack in the first quarter, two pass breakups and an interception returned for 19 yards.
This is Bachie's fourth career defensive player of the week honor and his first since Nov. 15, 2018.
It's the Spartans' second defensive player of the week honor after Kenny Willekes was given the award on Sept. 2.
