DETROIT — Miguel Cabrera's knee has been bothering him for five years.
And the pain isn't going to subside.
The Tigers say Cabrera has "chronic knee changes," and will be considered day-to-day.
Tigers trainer Doug Teter told reporters the knee issue is a result of a long career. Cabrera is expected to be the Tigers designated hitter going forward.
He is returning to the team's lineup on Tuesday.
