LAKELAND, Fla. — Miguel Cabrera didn't like how the 2019 season went.
He wanted to make changes before the new season, and when he showed up for spring training, proved he did.
"I was not happy with my numbers, the way we played, and all the losses we had," he said. "My goal was to get in shape."
Miguel Cabrera admitted he was heavy last year.

Cabrera admitted he was heavy last year. So he cut back on carbs. He ate more veggies.
The Tigers slugger said he's back at his 2015 and 2016 playing weight.
He has Hall of Fame numbers. Does he feel like has something to prove this year?
"Always. I always feel like I have to prove something on the field," he said. "Hopefully this year I can do a better job than last year."

Cabrera doesn't want to change his swing. He said he's tinkered with it the last three years. "I wanna be natural," he said. "Don't think about anything, and react."
