Michigan State junior guard Cassius Winston has been named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week after a stellar showing in the Las Vegas Invitational.
Winston, from Detroit, was named MVP of the invitational as the No. 11 Spartans beat No. 17 UCLA and Texas.
He averaged 19.5 points, 8.5 assists and three rebounds in the two wins. He also shot 50 percent from the floor which included shooting 50 percent from 3-point range.
In the championship game against the Longhorns, Winston scored 20 pounds to go along with 10 assists and four rebounds and two steals.
This is his first Big Ten Player of the Week honor and Michigan State's first since Miles Bridges in February.
Wisconsin's Ethan Happ was named the other Co-Big Ten Player of the week while Minnesota's Gabe Kalscheur was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
