DETROIT (WXYZ) — The 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic has two major additions with just over a week until the tournament.

World No. 17 golfer Tony Finau committed earlier this week, making his debut at Detroit's PGA Tour event. On Wednesday, it was also announced 12-time Tour winner and Major champion Jason Day will also play in the tournament.

The tournament field will be confirmed on Friday, with play scheduled to begin Thursday, July 2.

Finau is the third-highest ranked player in the tournament, followed by World No. 7 Patrick Reed and World No. 11 Bryson DeChambeau.

Others in the field include Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, Kevin Na, Kevin Kisner and 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner Nate Lashley.

The tournament has a $7.5 million purse and is the only PGA Tour event in the city of Detroit. It will be held July 2-5 at the historic Detroit Golf Club without fans.
