DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson has cleared waivers and is assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins, the team announced on Wednesday.
Ericsson was taken off injured reserve Tuesday and put on waivers for the purpose of assignment. The team also recalled defeseman Alex Biega from the Griffins.
Biega, 31, has appeared in two games for Detroit since being acquired in a trade this month. He has five shots on goal, one hit and two blocks shots.
