(WXYZ) -- The Detroit Lions are hiring New Orleans Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn as their defensive coordinator
The move, first reported Thursday, was officially announced Saturday by the team.
Glenn is reuniting with his former Saints colleague, new Lions head coach Dan Campbell.
Like Campbell, Glenn spent the past five seasons in New Orleans under head coach Sean Payton. Glenn previously worked as an assistant defensive backs coach for the Cleveland Browns from 2014-15 and a personnel scout with the New York Jets from 2012-13.
Glenn played 15 NFL seasons as a cornerback, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 1997 and 1998 with the Jets and 2002 with the Houston Texans.
