(WXYZ) — Matthew Stafford said after Sunday's win his hand "didn't feel so hot."
Two days later, it appears we know why.
Stafford has a partial tear in a ligament in the thumb of his throwing hand, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. He is still expected to play on Sunday against Carolina.
The Lions quarterback completed 24 of 33 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns against Washington. He played with his hand and thumb taped, and immediately threw a TD pass to Marvin Jones.
