Reports: Lions hiring Anthony Lynn as offensive coordinator

(WXYZ) -- The Detroit Lions are hiring former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn as their new offensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.

Lynn spent the past four seasons as Chargers head coach, compiling a 33-31 regular season record. He was fired following the 2020 season in which the team finished 7-9.

Lynn previously worked for the Buffalo Bills, where he was promoted to assistant head coach and offensive coordinator during the 2016 season. His also previously served as an assistant with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Denver Broncos.

As a player, Lynn was part of the Broncos teams that won Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII.

Detroit officially announced Aaron Glenn as its new defensive coordinator Saturday.
