DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire was treated by team medical staff after leaving mid-game Tuesday due to an allergic reaction.
Bench coach Steve Liddle told reporters after the game the problems began around the third inning of Detroit's 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
"Any time you have a reaction to food, or some kind of allergy, you worry about the airway closing up," said Liddle. "So our team doctor just wouldn't let him come back downstairs, but he's doing fine now and he'll be able to tell you about it tomorrow."
