LIVONIA (WXYZ) — Corey McKendry has been a part of the Schoolcraft men's basketball program for some time now, but five games into the season he took over head coaching duties after an abrupt coaching change.

He, nor his team, have looked back, as they now sit atop the NJACC Divions II national rankings, undefeated.

"If we're number one at the end of the season, I could give you a better answer," McKendry said.

Junior college isn't the final destination for most of these players. Some, will transfer to bigger colleges and universities, but these guys feel like they can also have fun and win now, while still working toward their future goals.

"Our goal is to win a national championship each and every year, but if we could trade a national championship or graduating ebveryone and moving them on to a four year school, we're going to take that every single time. We take a lot of pride in helping them get to where they want to go," McKendry added.
