DETROIT (WXYZ) — The field for the Rocket Mortgage Classic is nearly set, with players having until this Friday to commit to the tournament, but it appears Detroiters won't see Tiger Woods in the field.

Following his final round at the U.S. Open on Sunday, Woods gave two hints that he may not play in another tournament until The Open Championship in late July.

When he was asked about when fans will see him again, Woods responded, "Depends, if you've got a camera phone. So – no, I think I'm going to take a little bit of time off and enjoy some family time," according to Golf Digest.

Then, he was asked if he will play before The Open at Royal Portrush.

"I'll play at home, yeah," Woods added.

Woods previously took off every tournament following his Masters win and before the PGA Championship in May, but teed it up before the U.S. Open at The Memorial in Dublin, Ohio.

According to Golf Digest, Woods has never played in any of the four PGA Tour events before the final major of the year, so it's no surprise. Two of the events on the schedule in between, the Rocket Mortgage Classic and the 3M Open, are new tour events.
