DETROIT — Tigers closer Shane Greene picked up an honor no pitcher in franchise history has ever won.
Greene was named the American League reliever of the month for his 12 saves in March and April.
The monthly award was created in 2017, and he's the first Tigers pitcher to win it. Greene had a 1.29 ERA in the two months. He was a perfect 12-for-12 in save opportunities.
