Tigers shutting down Matt Manning because of biceps tendinitis: no throwing for 'foreseeable future'

DETROIT — The Tigers are shutting down Matt Manning, AJ Hinch said on Thursday. He has biceps tendinitis.

"He's not going to be throwing for the foreseeable future," AJ Hinch said. Manning told the Tigers Thursday he was sore in the front of his shoulder.

The Tigers put Manning on the injured list back on April 20 with right shoulder inflammation.
