Al Avila clearly has a plan for the 2020 MLB Draft: pick hitters.
The Tigers drafted LSU outfielder Daniel Cabrera with the No. 62 overall pick.
He was hitting .345 with two home runs and 12 RBI when the season was canceled.
Cabrera was named a preseason All-American. He exploded to success to open his college career, hitting .315 with eight home runs, and earning freshman All-American honors. He hit 12 home runs during an injury-limited sophomore year.
