US Women's soccer team to face Haiti in Detroit

Posted

U.S. Soccer announced Thursday night Haiti will replace the Australian team for the U.S. Women's National Team games in Detroit and Birmingham, Ala.

It came out on Wednesday that Australia would not be playing in the two games, scheduled for Sept. 17 and 20 respectively.

Since then, U.S. Soccer has been searching for a team to replace Australia.

More than 31,000 tickets have been sold for the match at Ford Field next Thursday.

It will be the first friendly match between the two countries. They have only met four times in their history, all during the CONCACAF qualifying tournaments.

Australia said they would not be playing due to a dispute with their federation.

Tickets are still available for the match, which starts at 7 p.m. You can get them at the Ford Field ticket office or by phone at 1-877-212-8898.
