LAKELAND, Fla. — The Tigers have a stockpile of talented young pitchers in their system for the first time in a long time.
Casey Mize, the 2018 No. 1 overall pick, leads the list. Franklin Perez, acquired in the Justin Verlander trade, has been injured but has tons of potential. Former first round picks Matt Manning, Alex Faedo, and Beau Burrows all find themselves in big league camp this spring. Tarik Skubal is the most intriguing name in the arsenal of prospects. The 2018 ninth round pick dominated last season, and was picked to start the team's spring opener.
