PONTIAC (WXYZ) — Lives will be changed in mere seconds this week, James Hill is a running back from Wayne State has been putting in the work here in Pontiac so that he might have a chance at the NFL dream.

“The combine is the biggest interview of their life, they have to show off their skills not just on the field, but also we have to make sure James ya his mind right going into that week because it’s going to be a long week. It’s a lot on the body and a lot on the mind,” DMC Powered by EXOS trainer and general manager Aaron Combs said.

This week you’ll see plenty of big names run the 40, bench press and run routes, but only 250 players get to participate in the main event.

Plenty of others, like this former Wayne State running back, will be there as well, participating in the same drills, in front of the same scouts, with the same dream at the end.

“The ultimate goal is to catch the eyes of scouts, so I’m hoping I can at least three but I wouldn’t say just scouts are the most important thing, just getting better and competing is probably my most important aspect from this week,” Wayne State running back James Hill said.

“As soon as James came in here, we all got really excited. He’s very explosive and once we started working with him even just the first time or two, we knew he was going to be something pretty special,” Combs added.

James’ journey is just beginning, as this certainly isn’t the last we’ve heard of him.
