Western Michigan caps off perfect season, wins MAC title

Posted

Head coach PJ Fleck has made the phrase "Row The Boat" a national slogan.

Western Michigan never let the waters get dicey either, as they capped off the schools first undefeated season in a 29-23 win over Ohio in the MAC title game.

The Broncos now await their fate for a bowl game, but Fleck made it very clear that his team belongs in the Cotton Bowl.

"No question about it, we are the best Group of 5 team in 2016, we deserve to be in the Cotton Bowl, period," Fleck said.

The Broncos season started with a win against Northwestern, capped off by an interception by Robert Spillane, Friday's game had a similar outcome, as Spillane picked off the Bobcats last attempt with just under a minute to go in the game.

"You can't write the script any better, we're going to celebrate this one tonight," Fleck added.

As far as the head coaches future, Fleck declined to elaborate on what his future will be, but said that he hadn't talked to any teams this week about potential job opening elsewhere.
