John Beilein admitted the game was over.
He also admitted be felt remorse, asking himself if his team deserved to win after Jordan Poole nailed a buzzer beating three-pointer to survive Houston in Wichita.
He then remembered all the times his teams have come up on the short side of those shots, when the bounces didn't go his way.
"Did Derek Walton deserve to hit that shot over Oregon to put us in the elite eight? Yeah, I'm just happy it evens out over time," Beilein recalled.
The players, still walking around with smiles when reminiscing on Poole's memorable shot, know that they didn't play to their potential against Montana or Houston, but are taking their free pass and focusing on coming out with better energy and effectiveness against upset minded Texas A&M on Thursday.
"We're blessed to have another opportunity, thankful that JP hit the shot, now we just prepare for Texas A&M," sophomore guard Xavier Simpson said.
"We definitely have that moving forward attitude, can't dwell on the past to much, it was a great shot but we've got to get ready for Texas A&M," Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman added.
The Wolverines and Aggies tip off on Thursday at 7:37 on TBS.
