Metro Detroit Forecast: Cold and snow on the way

Posted
and last updated

(WXYZ) — A calm night ahead with just a chance of flurries mainly south of Detroit. Temps will return to the 20s leading to another chilly start for Tuesday. Arctic air is on the way and arrives Tuesday night bringing a chance of snow squalls along with falling temps.

Be careful while traveling if you get caught in one of these squalls. They can ice up the roads and lower visibility in a hurry. Once the snow leaves - the core of the cold air moves in and will be felt on Wednesday, where much of the day will feel like the single digits and teens.

By Thursday into the weekend, we’ll ironically start a warming trend leading into the first day of Winter this weekend.

Tonight: A chance of snow showers, mainly south of I-94. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Tuesday Night: A few snow showers possible, colder with a low around 19.
