Metro Detroit Forecast: A milder start to the week

Posted
and last updated

(WXYZ) — As high pressure leaves...so will our clear skies as a weak disturbance moves in this evening and tonight. Some drizzle or light snow showers are possible as the atmosphere saturates and cools down towards Monday morning. If this materializes, we’ll be on the lookout for slick spots during the night time and morning rush hour, so stay safe and keep that in mind.

A better chance for snow arrives Tuesday with another weak system coming thru the area. Even if most locations dodge the snow, this system will also drop our temperatures back into the 30s before our promised warm up will follow. Confidence is growing in a two day warm-up for Wednesday and Thursday leading to a "Mass Meltdown" of the snow from last week. Rain will eventually accompany this warm up on Thursday where highs could climb near 50°.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a light mix and lows around 30.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of drizzle or light mix by the evening, with a high near 43.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow, with a low around 31.

Tuesday: Cloudy, with a high near 37.
