Heat advisories continue across southeastern Michigan until 6 p.m. today.
Temperatures could reach the mid 90s, but heat indices could top 100°. Drink plenty of water, limit outdoor activities, and take frequent breaks if you must be outside. Always check your backseat, and never leave children or pets in the car.
Yesterday was only the third day metro Detroit has climbed above 95° since July 2012. The other two days were August 10, 2016 and July 23, 2016.
We'll cool down Tuesday after a cold front gradually slides south of Michigan later tonight. Some rain, and a shift in winds from the northeast, should help us stay around 80° Tuesday afternoon.
