A surge of warm air next week could bring temperatures up to highs metro Detroit hasn't seen in over 6 months.
April 1-25 had an average temperature of 41.5 degrees, which would tie for the eighth coldest month of April in Detroit. Of course, that number is sure to increase through April 30.
We enter the month of May on Tuesday, when we could climb above 76 degrees for the first time since October 22.
Wednesday could also be in the upper 70s. If we reach 80 degrees, it would be the first 80-degree day since October 9 last year.
Metro Detroit has only reached 60 degrees eight times in 2018. Two of those days were in the 70s. Our warmest day so far is April 12 when we reached 76 degrees.
