A 31-year-old Detroit man has been arraigned in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 6-month-old boy.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has issued several charges against Deandre L. Cody including failure to stop at an accident when at fault resulting in death.

On May 18, Cody is accused of crashing into a minivan that the boy was traveling in with his family at the time and then fleeing the scene.

Three children, prosecutors say, were ejected in the crash.

The boy was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Bond was set at $500,000 cash surety.

Cody will be back in court on May 30 for a probable cause hearing.
